Kindergarten Graduation

Today was our much anticipated Kindergarten Graduation.
My students will officially be first graders tomorrow...a little bittersweet.
They have grown so much this year and it has been such a privilege to be their Kindergarten teacher.
Tonight they are filled to the brim with sugary treats and their fingers are died orange from eating too many Cheetos.
We sang our favorite songs for our moms and dads,
Received our certificates,
Tried not to eat popcorn off the floor...
I'd say our party was a success.  I'm not one to stand in the spotlight...but as a teacher sometimes you don't have a choice.  All those eyes on me...I was feeling nervous, but then I remembered what my role was and kept things moving smoothly. I was the hostess and it was my job to make sure everyone was happy and having a good time.  I was amazed at the family turn out we had.  It was so nice to see the support that these kids need and crave.
It was a great day.
To my Kindergarten friends,
Remember when I told you the other day how smart you all are? Well, it's true.  You have the world in your hands, to be who you want to be, to see what you want to see.  You have your whole lives ahead of you to continue growing and learning.  I'm so glad that I could be a small part of your journey.  I truly hope you remember the lessons we learned here together; to share, to use kind words, to treat others with respect. Take those things with you and use them to help you be the best you can be, to change the world! It's time for all of you to spread your wings and fly. You have all helped me continue to grow and be the best teacher that I can be and for that I thank you.

Love,
Mrs. Wolfe
