"a portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2013."

Everdeen Kate: You spent the longest time watching the cars drive by outside our bedroom window.  I always feel bad that the hustle and bustle of city life is zooming past our apartment.  You've never really known "quiet" before.  But today you loved watching the cars drive by.  I watched them with you wondering where all of these people were off to.  We were content staying inside today just watching the busy world pass us by.

  2. I remember when I was a kid, laying in bed at night, watching the lights from cars move across my ceiling and walls like a light show. We lived on the corner where two roads intersected, and for whatever reason, it made multiple projections of my window dance across my room. It was often what put me to sleep.

  3. I can't believe she is six months old already! Wow! She looks like she is geting big and strong now. I grew up in a small town, on side streets, so they were never too busy, really. However, when I was young--three, four, perhaps--I would creep behind my blinds at night and stare out the window, looking at the lights of my neighbors and wondering what they were doing while I laid in bed, pretending to sleep.
