twelve months

this little girl does NOT like bows in her hair :)

Sweet Everdeen, twelve months have flown by in the blink of an eye.  You are blossoming into a little toddler before us!  Your favorite word to say is "daddy" and you say it over and over like a broken record all day long...sometimes in what even sounds like a British accent :) You love to give kisses, wave bye-bye, and smoother the cats with affection.   We are constantly chasing you around and sometimes when you're feeling brave you'll stand on your own for a few seconds! The other day we watched you take a few steps by yourself from the chair to the couch, but we cheered so loudly we startled you and down you went! 

You amaze me everyday and I can't wait to see what these next twelve months bring! 

eleven months

Wow...Everdeen you are eleven months old today!! This month it seemed like you were turning into a little lady, except when you crawl around the apartment growling :) It's amazing to watch you as you are learning so many new things.  You love to have us walk you around, but you don't want to try it with just one hand yet.  You won't walk until we are holding both of your hands and you'll wait and wave your arm impatiently at us until we hold on :)  And just last week you got three new teeth! Now you're really starting to look like a little lady! 

I know I say it every month, but we are so blessed. I feel a little bit sad this month like we're saying goodbye to your babyhood and saying hello to you being a toddler. I know time can't stand still, but we are cherishing these moments more than ever.

ten months

We cannot believe our baby girl is 10 months old! The week of her ten month birthday brought lots of firsts- clapping, growling, and her first case of Roseola (not fun).  She has officially discovered the cats and giggles and squeals whenever they enter the room and she especially loves to pet them as she drinks her bottle. 

Everdeen is so full of life and wonderment.  We can't get enough of her belly laughs and her heart melting smiles.   She is our everything!  We love you so so much little one. 

eight months

Eight months have flown by in the blink of an eye. I just want these moments to stand still so I can hold onto them for just a little longer.  Everdeen, you are my everything.

7 months. I can't believe it. Just five short months away from a year old.  

This month has brought on baby proofing! You are quickly pulling yourself around the floor, trying to catch the cats, and ending up under chairs :) You've got a little mind of your own and are making it very very hard for anyone to change your diaper or get you dressed...I can just hear your little voice, "I have NO time for being on my back! I have cats to see and places to go!" 

We love you sweet sweet baby Everdeen! You fill our hearts with so much joy, we truly are the luckiest parents in the whole world.

six months {happy half birthday little one}

I can not believe it has been half a year since I held this little girl in my arms for the first time.  Time didn't go by this fast before we had Everdeen.  I wish it would slow down just a little bit so I could hold onto my baby just a little longer. 

 Someone wasn't really interested in sitting still for this months pictures...my how things can change so much in just a month! 

A few things Everdeen Kate has been up to this month:

Sleeping through the night unswaddled
Eating all of her vegetables
Screeching with delight at the top of her lungs
Experiencing some separation anxiety 
Rolling around the floor like it's her job
Almost crawling...just a little more practice!

 Our sweet Everdeen is five months old today...what a special day to celebrate!

Everdeen Kate you are four months old! We had your four month appointment last week and you are now 12 lbs and 25 inches long! This past month you have learned to roll over from your back to your tummy, have found your little toes, and have started petting the cats when they curl up next to you...it's the cutest :)  My favorite time of day has been in the evening with the Christmas lights twinkling on the tree as I rock you to sleep and your sweet face looking up at me as we hum Silent Night.  

We love you more than words can say. Thank you for bringing so much joy into our lives every single moment.

Everdeen Kate you are three months old! I can't believe how much you have changed this month.  Your personality is really starting to shine through and you are so interested in everything around you. You are the calmest and happiest baby I have ever known. Every morning when we wake you up, you greet us with a big giggle grin and we scoop you up and give you hundreds of kisses on your chubby little cheeks.  

This month you are babbling and cooing, have learned to roll over to your side and love to put everything in your mouth...including your daddy's nose. You are now 11 pounds and 23 1/2 inches long, growing bigger and stronger every day!

Beautiful girl, we love you more than you'll ever know and are so thankful for the joy you bring to our lives.

Everdeen Kate is two months old today! I think I'll say this every month, but where has the time gone? 

At eight weeks we are getting really good at our daily schedule and I start to think, "Wow! this is easy!" And then of course the moment those words float through my brain I have every possible bodily fluid on my clothes and in my hair and Everdeen is crying at the top of her lungs. But we live for the moments in between the little meltdowns and are so thankful each day for our happy baby girl.

But for now, my baby girl is exactly one month old today. Where did those four weeks go?  Martin and I still can't believe we have been blessed with such a sweet, sweet baby.  We just sit and stare at her every evening after dinner and give her a million kisses and she smiles back. 

It makes our hearts melt. 

I love my new family of three.  I feel like it's always been this way...that I've always known Everdeen. I can't remember what it was like before we brought this baby girl into our lives. 

I wish she would stay this tiny forever.
