I Love You To The Moon and Back
times infinity...

To My One and Only,
Thank you for trying to recreate our traditional Valentine's dinner the gluten free way...even if I cried. You are the most patient man I have ever met and my pregnant overly emotional self thanks you endlessly for your constant support, laughter, and back rubs. You are going to make the world's best dad. I can't wait to see you hold our little baby in your arms and know that it has some of you and some of me mixed together (hopefully a little more of you than me...) I love you more than anything and want you to know that I truly am the luckiest girl in the world.
Love,
me

You Are The Best Thing...

Hello best friend,
I have this great feeling today that everything is going to work out the way it should.
Maybe because the sun is finally out or maybe because I'm psychic...you didn't know?
You are amazing.
An incredibly hard worker.
Passionate.
I'm so proud of you.
You treat me like a princess every day...even when I have a meltdown the size of the sun.
You are still so kind and loving. I am one lucky lady.
Thank you for being mine and for being you.
Love,
me

I Miss This Guy

Martin finally called me on Saturday. Other than a quick e-mail letting me know he'd actually made it I hadn't heard from him all week.
Me: It's so good to hear from you! I'm glad you're finally calling me.
Martin: I've been in Italy
WHAT?! ITALY!? I thought you had gone to get the mail!!
It was a short conversation intertwined with shouts of "WOA! A Ferrari! No WAY! A Maserati!!" Followed by a high pitched squeal that I'm hoping was a wild pig in the street and not my husband.
I think this aching love sick feeling is one sided :) Maybe Martin will remember he was supposed to miss me when he sees me at the airport next week.
But not to worry, Kate has spent hours of Skype time with me and Elizabeth and my brother-in-law, Don, have taken good care of me while my sole provider of meals is away ogling at fancy Italian cars.

love list for martin
Hi honey,
I don't know if you'll be able to read this while you're gone, but just incase I wanted to let you know that I'm doing just fine. I've even had two social engagements in the past two days...just like you said I should. Here are a few more things that I've done on my own...
1. I filled the water pitcher in the fridge when it looked almost empty (well Marlena did tonight annnd she taught me how to open a bottle of wine)
3. I took out the trash
4. I've kept the cats fed and brushed and loved
5. I've cleaned every inch of the apartment...I'm telling you it's spotless
6. I've stayed up past 10 o'clock every night (I think I keep waiting for you to come to bed, but you don't, so I fall asleep watching old Office reruns)
7. I've gotten the mail
8. I went grocery shopping and made sure I bought lots of protein
see? I can almost survive without you...but not for much longer.
When I see you again I'll be an independent woman...you probably won't recognize me.
Please make sure you're eating lots of Parmesan cheese for me
I miss you terribly.
Love you
Love,
Me

Note to Martin
Dear Martin,
I was thinking the other day about how I love how you taught yourself to play the guitar, and that you don't get embarrassed singing at the top of your lungs for everyone to hear. I like listening to you play as I fall asleep. I like your renditions of Bob Dylan and old bluegrass standards. I don't know if I've ever told you this, but you are so incredibly talented. In high school I was so jealous of your ability to effortlessly play the violin. And when I heard you play the mandolin for the first time, I wanted to shout to everyone that, "He's with me!"
Just so you know, I'm your number one groupie.
Love,
Jessica

Remember Prom?
Prom season is in the air...
I got to go to my senior Prom with my now husband, which makes it extra special.
He picked me up in his tan Geo...wearing his nicest black suite. He looked very handsome.
(who knew the next time we would be this dressed up we would be saying, "I do"?)
I was nervous...excited.
We drove to his parent's house and his dad took pictures.
Martin asked me to come to his room for a minute before we headed off to see his mom at work. He pulled out a tiny box...a tiffany blue box with a white ribbon. It was the most beautiful ring.
I couldn't stop smiling! At the dance I held out my hand for all my girlfriends to see.
We danced and danced...well tried to. I taught Martin all my swing dancing moves and he did his best to keep up :)
It was everything Prom should be...magical

Twitterpated

I am in love with a man named Martin.
I love being married to Martin. Marriage is amazing and wonderful and exciting. But sometimes marriage is hard. You are combining two souls together. Two different individuals. I didn't think things would change too much when Martin and I got married last summer. We had been together for so long, been through a lot...I thought it would be pretty much the same as it had been for the last seven years. When people ask me what's different between dating and being married I have a really hard time putting it into words...it's more a feeling.
I think it's knowing that you've committed your lives together...knowing that even when things get tough you can't just walk away, you have to stay together, work together, love together. It's a stronger bond then when we were just dating. It's the ultimate commitment and partnership of love and trust. I know it sounds cheesy but I truly feel honored that my husband chose me to live by his side and grow old with him. It is the most amazing feeling to know someone cares for you and loves you that much that even on your worst day you're are still the one person they want to come home to...and be twitterpated with :)

To: Martin
Dear Martin,
I love you. I'm so glad you love me...even when I worry about EVERYTHING, like if the last piece of bread I threw away will be lonely and sad, cry for no reason, expect you to rub my back/feet every day, and beg you to make pasta every night for dinner even when you've made a dinner that would win you awards on Food Network. You are truly amazing and I am the luckiest girl in the whole world. Thank you for loving me for me.
love,
me
